Although it’s still marked as beta by Apple, Siri has become the number one feature on the iPhone 4S. Which will just have to do with the undeniable fact that it is also exclusive to the iPhone 4S, but who are we to reach the wrong conclusion? Anyhow, there’s been rumours that Apple has been internally testing Siri on the iPhone four.

While that can or not be true, Apple has come out and confirmed, it has no plans on supporting Siri on older devices. Michael Steeber posted an answer from Apple to a bug report, which makes it clear once and for all that Siri will not be supported on older devices : Engineering has given the following feedback concerning this issue : Siri only works on iPhone 4S and we presently have no intentions to support older devices. Apple is mostly quite about their plans, explaining why we haven’t heard any official plans for Siri support on the iPhone four or the iPad two. If you desire Siri on the older devices, your best chance would be one of the unlicensed ports that are presently being worked on.
