David Leonhardt , an economic columnist has overtook Dean Baquet because he has been declared as the new Washington Bureau Chief of New York Times.

He is a native of New York. He is very experienced as he has worked over the metro staff of The Washington Post and The Business Week. He wrote about the economy and the economical consequences on the people of America in the business staff of The Times.
He made a number of contributions like Bizday column to his portfolio in 2006 and then he added his column to Washington in September 2008.
He has been awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 2011 for his commentary. One of his colleagues quoted him as ‘endlessly inquisitive’ which is the most required quality of a good editor.
David will take over his post only after labor day when Dean shifts to his new post.
The two editors have contributed a lot to uplift the bureau to heights in Washington. They covered each and every strata of the society and country like diplomacy, terrorism, politics, national security, intelligence and the Obama White House.
David shines as a columnist, reporter and a magazine writer. He has a deep understanding of economy of the country and politics and also how the country works. He is creative and a perfect leader who knows the right key points to stress upon. All these qualities together make him outstanding.
We look forward to him for new achievements in the near future. But before this lets make a toast to his present achievement.
