Early in Feb we got taught that Radiance : Reach short film director Noam Murro was being lined up to direct the gestating follow up Die Hard five with Bruce Willis striding into John McClane’s shoes once again. Nevertheless not too far back we learned Murro would instead sit in the director’s chair for the prequel three hundred : Battle of Artemisia ( the project previously known as Xerxes ).
Reputedly his dedication to that film has compelled him to step away from the follow up, but Twitch has learned that Behind Enemy Lines and Max Payne director John Moore has been offered the film, and they also have 1 or 2 engaging plot details. After handling terrorists and slaughtering criminals in L. A. , Virginia, NY City and Washington D.C, it sounds like this 5th installment of the franchise will take John McClane and the action outside the United Sates. This new follow up, from A-Team writer Skip Woods, will seemingly have everybody’s favourite cop heading to Russia with his child where the 2 are drawn into some variety of clash with local forces. John McClane Jr. Momentarily appeared in the 1st film and is referenced as “Jack” in Live Free or Die Hard when villain Thomas Gabriel runs thru some of McClane’s private info.
Presumably the personality was initially included in a draft of the 4th follow up, but did not make the final cut. Having a father-son couple for this new follow up might make things engaging, but just if we get back to the bloody, R-rated action and colourful language we’ve started to expect from a Die Hard film that was wretchedly missing from the last follow up.
